Ananthapura Lake Temple

Travel to Ananthapura Lake Temple in Kerala. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, this only Lake Temple in the God's Own Country is the original Seat Of Anathapadmanabha Swami. Devotees from far flung areas travel to Ananthapura Lake Temple to get a darshan of Lord Vishnu.

Located 5 km away from Kumbla in Kasargode District, the doors of the lake temple are open for visitors or devotees. The temple houses a beautiful image of Shree Padmanabha (Lord Vishnu) seated on Adisesha, the serpent god. An ancient shrine is engulfed by a chuttambalam and its walls have beautiful mural.

The lake temple is situated in the heart of the Ananthapura Lake in a tranquil ambience. Perched on a rocky hill, one can have a panoramic view of the luscious surrounding. It is believed that a lone crocodile inhabits the lake. So be a little more careful while traveling to the lake temple. It is a venue of Thapotsavam, an annual one-day festival. This festival is held in the month of April.
